Search for the Right Church

One of the basic fundamentals of life is religion. It has created and shaped people’s way of life and even entire societies for centuries. Religion goes back many years and is a part of many people’s lives. There are many opinions about faith, so I interviewed some classmates about their thoughts.

“I would say going to church benefits me because when I go on Sunday it restarts my week and makes me feel refreshed,” Kailin Richards said. “I would say I chose my religion because I grew up as a Christian and that’s what I identify with. I have many favorite bible verses so one of my best ones I relate to is Proverbs 13:20 NLT. ‘Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.’ It reminds me to make sure I’m with the right people and to stay out of trouble.”

“I do not go to church and I wasn’t raised in a Christian family. I don’t have a strong opinion about religion, but I respect what people believe,” Hailey Hayes said. “I was never really told a lot about it, but I have an open mind and would enjoy learning about each religion. There are a lot of opinions out there, and I have always wondered how the universe was created.”

Tammy Pham said, “I am Catholic and I go to church every week. It makes me feel closer to God and its sort of a safe zone for me where I can talk to God about everything going on in my life and I know he will turn me in the right direction. At first, I didn’t like going to church because I had to go with my parents, but now I enjoy going. I believe God created everything we have today.”

Becca Hughes said, “I am a Christian and I go to Church every week. It benefits me because I like to learn about God and it is a good way to start a new week. It is my choice to believe in God; although, my family is Christian. It is my choice to go to church, and I believe God created the universe. My favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:6. ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.’ This is my favorite bible verse because it talks about praying and giving your stress to God.”

There are many unique and different religions out there. They are more prevalent then some people may think. When one really looks into today’s society, they can see how much religion is a part of the twenty-first century and how interesting every belief really is.
