GET HOOKED ON GREENWAY’S FAVORITE BOOKS

Reading may not be as popular as scrolling through social media to kill time, but it can be an enjoyable activity. There are so many different genres, from fantasy to nonfiction to fiction, drama, and mystery-the list goes on. It’s hard not to find something that you could just lie down and read for hours.

 Payton Smetzler (Freshman):

  • Favorite book: Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
  • Why: It’s well-written and entertaining.
  • Favorite character(s): Hermione
  • Why: She’s smart and can be snarky.
  • What happens in the book: Snape kills Dumbledore.
  • Would you recommend the book: Yes.
  • Why: It’s a good read.

  Charity Maley (Freshman):

  • Favorite book: Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
  • Why: It has action and gods/goddesses.
  • Favorite character(s): Isis
  • Why: She’s cool.
  • What happens in the book: War

  • Favorite book: Fault In Our Stars by John Green
  • Why: It’s storyline
  • Favorite character(s): Issac & Gus
  • Why: They’re humorous.
  • What happens in the book: A girl diagnosed with cancer finds love.
  • Would you recommend this book: Yes
  • Why: It has a good storyline and it’s humorous.

  Samantha Melchor (Freshman):

  • Favorite book: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  • Why: It teaches you that even though you go through the worst time of your life, there is someone there to support you.
  • Favorite character: Agustus Waters
  • Why: He is funny, easy-going and very supportive.
  • What happens in the book: A girl named Hazel has cancer and she doesn’t talk to anyone and is going through depression. She meets Gus and he helps her out. Then, they fall in love.
  • Would you recommend this book: Yes
  • Why: It’s a good story.

  Christina Tee (Freshman):

Favorite book: Divergent by Veronica Roth

  • Why: It is a good story that revolves around an interesting perspective.
  • Favorite character: Tris
  • Why: She grows a lot throughout the book and is unique, even for being Divergent.
  • What happens in the book: A new world is created using factions and a girl who is different and doesn’t belong in a faction joins Dauntless, which values courage. She struggles to make it through while making friends and memories along the way to a rebellious ending.
  • Would you recommend this book: Yes
  • Why: It is interesting and action filled.
