Achievement Above All Winners Stand Tall

On Wednesday February 7th Greenway High School took center stage at the Glendale Union High School District Board celebration.  The winners of the 2018 Achievement Above All awards were presented in front of a packed hall full of principals, board members, district administrators and community members. Greenway Principal Mr. Vreeken was the master of ceremonies who talked about the great work that this year’s recipients put forth.

English instructor Ms. Cannaday was honored as Greenway’s teacher of the year.  She spoke highly of her English department and fondly reminisced about her early years at Greenway.

The next Demon to be inducted into the triple A club was student of year Michelle Ailport.  Aside from being in the top one percent of her senior class, Ailport is our NHS president, and she has been involved with various clubs and projects here at Greenway.

After Michelle, the recycling team headed by teachers Ms. Dodge and Mr. Renard accepted their award for being the student group of the year.  They spoke about the importance of keeping Greenway green by recycling and the dedication of their students.

The next award was presented to Ms. Huibsch for being the support staffer of the year.  Ms. Huibsch is the secretary in building B who makes sure everything runs smoothly.

Finally, Ms. Rocket was recognized as the volunteer of the year.  Ms. Rocket is the president of the Parent Action Club here at Greenway.

Greenway’s class of 2018 Achievement Above All winners is an impressive group that help make our school special.
