SWIM AND DIVE (Boys and Girls)

BOYS SWIM AND DIVE SEASON RECORD (4-0)


(MEET TIME: 4 PM, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED)

(HOME POOL: CACTUS PARK @ 39TH AND CACTUS)

(HEAD COACH: BRIAN ANDERSON)

8/31 – MOON VALLEY – HOME – WIN – 10-12 laps won

The Demon swimmers and divers opened up the season with victories over the Moon Valley Rockets. The girls downed the Rockets 118 to 59, taking first place in 10 of 12 events.  Seniors Sidney Kaleta and Zaydee Stemmons, both swimmers collected 2 victories Sidney in the 100 freestyle and 100 Breaststroke.  Zaydee won the 200 free and the 100 butterfly. Freshman    Rylee Hoil took first in diving.
The boys defeated the Rockets 127 to 51. They also took first in 10 of 12 events. The boys were led by dual winners Senior Aldofo Veleta in 50 free and 100 free, Asher Stemmons in 200 free and 100 butterfly. Greenway divers also swept the diving competition with Nick Vosskuhler taking first.

         

9/6 – NOTRE DAME/CORONADO – HOME

9/14 – DEER VALLEY – AWAY – WIN

The Demon swimmers did an excellent job yesterday as they took on Deer Valley & Paradise Honors. The Boys Team won by a score of 128 to 105 to 38 led by great 1st place races from Senior Jonas Smith in the 500 Freestyle, Senior Rodrigo Reyes in the 200 Freestyle , and Junior Gage Barnett in the 100 Backstroke.

9/21 – THUNDERBIRD @ 3:30 PM – AWAY

9/28 – WASHINGTON/DYSART – HOME – WIN

The Greenway swimmers and divers competed in at tri-meet against Washington and Dysart. The Demons came away with victories on both the boys and girls side. The boys had an equally successful meet winning by the score of Greenway 156 Washington 22 and Dysart 62. Standout performances we turned in by Gage Barnett 1st in 200 free and 100 back, Asher Stemmons 1st 100 Fly, Aiden Richard 1st 100 Breaststroke and Nick Vossskuler 1st in 1 meter Diving. Great Job swimmers and Divers.

10/3 – DIVE MEET @ GLENDALE – AWAY

10/5 – SUNNYSLOPE – HOME

10/18 – DEMONS/CHIEFS @ THUNDERBIRD – AWAY

10/19 – KELLIS – AWAY – WIN – 139 – 99

The Girls team swam great races coming in 2nd place overall with a score of 134 to 114 to 58. The 4×1 relay consisting of Senior Zaydee Stemmons , Freshman Sydney Wolfe , Sophomore Emilia Winas, & Sophomore Heather Johnson came up big destroying the competition. Congratulations to the Greenway Divers as well with incredible diving performances by Rylee Hoil & Nick Vosskuhler leading to another victory. Come support your Demon Swimmers next week as they take on Thunderbird at the Moon Valley Country Club. Great Job Demon Swim & Dive.

The Greenway swimmers and divers competed in at tri-meet against Washington and Dysart. The Demons came away with victories on both the boys and girls side. The Girls crushed the Rams and Demons 176, Greenway 102 Washington and 35 Dysart. The Girls swept 1st and 2nd  place in 8 of 12 events. Swimmers having a breakout meet include Sydney Wolf 1st in 200 Free, Heather Johnson 1st in 200 IM and 500 Free, Zoe Morrison 2nd in the 50 Free and Anika Olsen 1st in 100 Free. Great Job swimmers and Divers.
